About the Position
This is an executive level management position that will provide strategic financial leadership and guidance at Glatfelter Insurance Company. The role is responsible for overseeing the Glatfelter Finance team, all financial operations of the organization, including FP&A activities, quarterly closings, and financial management information that enables leadership to successfully execute business strategies. This is an in-office position based in York, PA or Berwyn, PA.
The successful candidate will possess proven leadership, management and organizational skills. He/she will have a track record of being able to drive organizational change both within the financial arena and throughout the supported organization. It is imperative that the individual possesses excellent business acumen, strong leadership skills, along with the expertise to navigate and achieve the organization's financial goals.
This individual must have experience across a broad range of financial disciplines and be a forward-thinking and progressive leader. They will have extensive knowledge and experience in managing both strategic and tactical activities within finance and have experience managing internal and external business partners across various business disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic financial leadership focused on development and execution of business strategies, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
- Proactive finance business partnering, analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to drive business growth and profitability.
- Coordinate with AIG Finance Business Partners to ensure consistent reporting practices and alignment on common key performance metrics.
- Lead the Glatfelter Finance team, develop finance talent and assist in the delivery of overall business goals (including leading, mentoring and fostering a culture of collaboration).
- Oversee the Glatfelter Facilities team.
- Analyze and drive insights on quarterly P&L by Program with appropriate linkage to business strategies and plans.
- Manage quarterly re-forecasting of full P&L results to incorporate changes in premium projections, update for impacts of mix of business on loss and acquisition ratios and identify any other relevant changes to expected financial results.
- Lead and improve financial processes and controls.
- Lead annual financial planning and budget processes.
- Support quarterly business reviews and other portfolio discussions.
- Manage company financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and corporate requirements.
- Oversee the cash management analysis and reporting, including responsibility for maintaining cash management relationship with bank.
- Preparation and documentation of all year-end adjusting, closing and consolidating entries. Oversee all year-end account analyses and related worksheets to facilitate the annual independent audit of the company’s financial statements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years progressive accountancy or finance experience within the Property/Casualty insurance industry. Minimum three (3) years of experience within a publicly traded company.
- Minimum of five (5) years management/supervisory experience.
