About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group (GIG) is seeking a Product Development Specialist to join their corporate product development team. GIG provides highly specialized insurance programs for non-profit and other service organizations, including emergency service organizations, municipalities, water districts, schools, and religious organizations.

The Product Development Specialist collaborates with Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, IT, Marketing and Sales to develop innovative products, ensuring best in class coverage for our programs. This very specialized role is responsible for developing language to support new coverages and associated rules to guide those coverages, providing product maintenance to ensure compliance in all states by tracking legislative updates, overseeing the filing process to gain approval of our products, and communicating coverage changes throughout the organization.  

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of five (5) years work experience in insurance product development and forms drafting capacity at a property and casualty insurance company, insurance brokerage firm, insurance agency, or consulting state filings department.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced insurance training completed, CPCU preferred.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of, and experience with, commercial property and casualty insurance products and a good working knowledge of ISO products, forms, endorsements, manuals, and rules for all property and casualty commercial lines of business.
  • Experience with independently drafting complex proprietary coverage forms, endorsements, policy declarations, rules, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Experience with responding to insurance department filing questions preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance department rules and regulations governing coverage forms, endorsements, rates, rules, and policy declarations.
  • Extensive experience using Adobe, PowerPoint, Word and Excel software.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professional demeanor and approach in the performance of duties.
  • Must possess initiative to work independently without frequent supervisory involvement.
  • Equipped with good communication skills to effectively coordinate and communicate with various levels of GIG associates and insurance company partners.
  • Strong verbal and grammatical ability required to draft and explain coverage forms, endorsements, rules, policy declarations, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ability to quickly understand new insurance products and product changes.
  • Detail oriented, must possess ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread documents.
  • Possess high organizational skills and have the ability to set and adjust priorities.
  • Ability to function as a team player and work closely with Corporate Product Development Manager, GUS Program Managers, Program Operations Services, Actuarial, Customer Applications, Business Systems, and carrier underwriting, product development, and state filings departments.

About the Position

 Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Managing Director of Distribution.  In this role our new associate will be assuming management and leadership responsibilities for Glatfelter Public Entities, Glatfelter Ministry Care and Glatfelter Healthcare Programs within Glatfelter Insurance Group (GIG) Programs.  These responsibilities include management oversight of the three programs’ budgets, including profit and loss to plan; management of day-to-day operations; planning and implementation of sales strategy, marketing objectives, policies and programs; and the promotion of associate development.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and establishes action plans for achieving long range goals and objectives of the three programs in accordance with business mission and corporate philosophy
  • Analyzes costs, activities, operations, and forecasts data to determine programs’ progress toward stated goals.  Directs sales and marketing activities, which includes an analysis of competitive products and services, selling techniques, sales goals, and distribution methods.
  • Recommends product and services modifications or improvements based on findings of marketing research, technical service work or sales personnel and competitive feedback. 
  • Works to develop three business plans to expand the delivery of each programs’ products and services to a broader market base.  Continually evaluates effectiveness of business plan objectives and strategies moving forward.
  • Responsible for the direction, assignment, training, performance, and evaluation of direct reports.  Has an active role in final hiring decision of all sales executive positions. 
  • Oversees all three program’s advertising and sales promotion activities.

 What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in insurance sales and marketing with management, budgetary and planning responsibilities
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business or Marketing, or equivalent industry experience

About the Position

The Glatfelter Agency (TGA), a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team. This individual will be assigned a book of business to maintain and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and service an existing book of business with professionalism.
  • Ability to convey complex insurance information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Commercial client inquiries and requests.
  • Collaborate with Account Executive, where appropriate, on account activity.
  • Coordinate renewal quotes with incumbent carrier and alternative carriers if marketing, reconciling quotes to requested specifications.
  • Utilize carrier websites to quote, rate, bind, and various other functions.
  • Compiling materials for client renewal presentations, including preparation of the agency proposal document.

What We’re Looking For

  • Commercial Lines retail insurance agency experience required.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an actuarial professional with industry expertise to lead reserving and rate filings for Glatfelter business.  The Senior Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for working with actuarial, product development, and claims leadership in support of a broad array of reserving, rate filings, and analytics functions. This includes quarterly reserve monitoring, loss ratio budgeting, rate filings, actuarial process efficiency, and management reporting.  The candidate will partner with other actuaries in implementing best practice analytical techniques and assessing the impact of loss trends and claims emergence, and partner with claims management in assessing the impact of changes in claim operations on loss reserves.  This is a hybrid role.  Our home office can be York or Berwyn, PA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly reserving process and be able to explain reserve development to underwriters and upper management.
  • Work with finance to provide by program and by line of business loss ratios for the budgeting process and the 3-year strategic direction process.
  • Modernize components of the reserve monitoring processes through use common programming languages, while maintaining end-user friendly tools.
  • Work with Product Development to ensure adequate rate levels are achieved in filings.
  • Conduct training sessions on actuarial topics, loss trends, industry issues, and updates to loss development factors for management and stakeholders.
  • Work with leadership to create claims diagnostics, large loss monitoring, and actual vs. expected reporting on a quarterly basis.

What We’re Looking For

  • B.S. in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
  • Associate or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) required.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Sales Executive in our newest division Glatfelter Brokerage Services (GBS).  In this role our associate will develop and promote the sale and use of all GBS products and services through independent agents. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform activities that lead to the production and development of new business.
  • Development of sales including: geographic penetration, premium and new business growth, and profitability.
  • Develop, implement, and promote marketing and communications strategy to drive business growth.
  • Promote and maintain goodwill between GBS and other GIG divisions as well as key distributors as assigned.
  • Assist with all identified training needs of production sources and other external sources as appropriate, as well as, internal colleagues working on GBS initiatives.

About the Position

Glatfelter Claims Management is seeking a full time, in-house Sr. Auto Injury Claim Adjuster to join our York, PA team.  This position involves the direct handling of commercial auto injury claims for customers with claims arising from our national insurance programs, including public entities; emergency service organizations; religious organizations; and hospice/home health organizations. This position will require the investigation, evaluation and resolution of large exposure non-litigated and litigated bodily injury liability and/or UM/UIM claims.

The ideal candidate will be able to interpret and apply pertinent insurance policy language, effectively communicate coverage, proactively conduct timely and thorough claim investigations, develop claim handling and resolution strategies, leverage litigation claims with exposure recognition and expense management, liability and benefits determinations, and provide exceptional customer service. Some travel required.

  • 5+ years auto litigation claims experience or equivalent litigation practice preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent transferrable industry experience required.
  • Must hold current state adjusting licenses or pass licensing exams within an aggressive period of time.

Assist the Digital Marketing Manager in managing HubSpot eblasts and forms – responsible for the creation, support, and trouble-shooting of any digital communications. About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an actuarial professional with industry expertise to assist with pricing Glatfelter business.  The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for working with actuarial, underwriting, and claims leadership in support of a broad array of ratemaking, reserving, and analytics functions. About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Assistant Supervisor in our Public Entity Division.  In this role your responsibility will be for the quality and quantity of work performed by the Underwriting Assistants. Provides guidance, training and support to Underwriting Assistants on the team. Supports the achievement of the department goals related to underwriting results, customer service and agent relations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the performance of the Underwriting Assistants on an annual basis and conducts the performance review and Audits.
  • Organizes work flow and procedures, monitors activity and conducts meetings for staff.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations and salary adjustments relative to all associates within area of responsibility.
  • Organizes projects and delegates responsibilities to appropriate individuals.
  • Performs individual as well as group training sessions concerning areas of responsibility.

  • Prices renewal business and identifies valid reasons for schedule rating modifications in the file.
  • Processes endorsement and change requests received from agent within written authority.  
  • Controls expiration lists for assigned territory.  Assists in the updating and analysis of exposure information for renewal processing.
  • Maintains all Onbase new customer files and renewal files with appropriate documentation in file.
  • Maintains diary system according to guidelines.
  • Maintains weekly reports measuring timeliness of agency processed transactions including issues, endorsements, renewals. 

What We’re Looking For

  • Graduation from high school with appropriate course work in English and math leading to proficiency in verbal and written communications skills.
  • Minimum four (4) years property-casualty experience preferred or equivalent industry experience
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven exceptional performance as an underwriting assistant.
  • Ability to process on various software systems a heavy volume of detailed work requiring considerable concentration.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to support the human capital strategies across the organization, acting as a trusted advisor to managers and associates helping to attract, motivate, and retain talent. This role is critical to supporting the development and execution of Glatfelter’s people plan and driving HR excellence and process alignment with AIG.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the President of Glatfelter Insurance Group, responsibilities of this role include:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and primary HR contact for Glatfelter Insurance Group associates and managers, providing personnel policy and procedure guidance and resolving issues that may arise.
  • Run the daily functions of the Human Resources department in coordination with AIG HR policies and procedures were applicable.

Glatfelter Insurance Group’s Claims Management Team (GCM) is seeking a full-time Commercial Claims Assistant II / Claims Handler Trainee to join our Claims Management Operations Team.  Glatfelter Insurance Group provides highly specialized insurance programs, which include dedicated claims handling and administration, for non-profit and other service organizations, including emergency service organizations, municipalities, water districts, schools, and religious organizations.  The Claims Assistant II / Claims Handler Trainee is an entry level position, which provides the associate with the opportunity to advance one’s insurance industry knowledge, learn the basics of the claim administration process, and prepare individuals for future roles in claims handling.  This position actively collaborates with our outside partners to efficiently register new claims, effectively assists Claims Handlers with claim administration tasks, and will actively engage with all departments throughout GIG.  In this role you will seek to provide the best support for claim assistance services available in the marketplace and be responsible for accomplishing tasks while maintaining company standards in all areas assigned by management.

About the Position

This is an executive level management position that will provide strategic financial leadership and guidance at Glatfelter Insurance Company.  The role is responsible for overseeing the Glatfelter Finance team, all financial operations of the organization, including FP&A activities, quarterly closings, and financial management information that enables leadership to successfully execute business strategies. This is an in-office position based in York, PA or Berwyn, PA.

  • Work with users and IT to gather and organize information regarding a problem, situation or improvement opportunity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience with insurance systems with demonstrated experience working in an insurance environment with proven knowledge of MGA’s, brokerage, retail, and/or carrier operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer technologies, including but not limited to integration concepts, logic rules, and data structures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems analysis techniques.
  • Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels of the organization (internal and external) in a highly effective manner using reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Client Technologies Analyst in our IT Technical Services Department to provide consultation to IT users for all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software. This position configures, installs, monitors, and maintains IT users’ desktop software and hardware; supports mobile workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and handle incoming calls related to GIG Information Systems. May be required to answer IT Service Desk calls. 
  • Appropriately respond to user questions through knowledge of divisional procedures, research and communication within the various IT departments.  
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop checklists for reoccurring problems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance through Tier 2 support and works with System Administrators to resolve Tier 3 issues. 
  • Document steps needed to resolve problems and create guidelines for end users. 
  • Evaluate, maintain, modify (e.g., create macros, templates) and document desktop application packages, participate in the testing and evaluation of new desktop packages and implement prototypes.
  • Maintain knowledge database and call tracking database to enhance quality of problem resolutions. 
  • Perform associate moves, changes, new hire preparation and separations. 
  • Keep the Director of Infrastructure informed of the status of all projects and processing errors and/or system downtime.
  • Assist with IT projects and help rollout new equipment and desktop services to associates.  May provide on-site training to users. 
  • Assist in the installations, diagnostics and repair of network devices, printers and PC software and hardware. 
  • Assist in the evaluation, recommendations, and final selection of equipment, network services and PC components for the organization.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of data and telecommunications services and network cabling.
  • Perform software upgrades and installs.  Perform installation and preventive maintenance of PC and printer hardware.
  • Maintain technical knowledge level through trade publications, seminars and courses.
  • Assist other IT technical staff as necessary. 
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized lab.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required to fulfill departmental needs. 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT work experience in supporting desktop software and hardware products and problem solving/troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to immediately troubleshoot telecommunications systems, personal computer hardware, peripherals and printer problems as they arise.
  • Strong organizational skills required to meet deadlines, ensure timely resolution of issues and complete project tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate to all levels of GIG associates in all departments.
