About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an experienced and results driven Account Executive professional for our commercial lines P&C business in The Glatfelter Agency, a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group.  The role is responsible for producing new accounts and servicing existing accounts.  It will also maintain direct customer service for the agency at a level that exceeds client expectations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Two (2) years sales experience preferred.
  • College degree, preferable in a business field or five (5) years experience in an insurance field.
  • Must possess Pennsylvania P&C license or obtain within three (3) months.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, with an analytical mindset.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and complete tasks and projects.
  • Self-motivated with a strong discipline to consistently manage short term responsibilities to achieve long-term goals.

About the Position

We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Senior Service Desk Analyst to join our growing IT team. This role is essential to supporting our end-users by delivering high-quality technical support, managing escalated issues, and helping to maintain our IT infrastructure.  You will work closely with other members of the technology team to ensure our systems are operating smoothly.  

We are looking for strong experience in the support of Microsoft desktop computing environments, imaging and deploying Windows equipment and performing hands on tasks such as network cabling and connectivity. You will serve as an escalation point for junior analysts, contribute to process improvement efforts, and supporting both onsite and remote situations depending on business needs. This position is required to be onsite in our York, PA office.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and handle incoming calls related to GIG Information Systems. May be required to answer IT Service Desk calls.  
  • Appropriately respond to user questions through knowledge of divisional procedures, research and communication within the various IT departments.   
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop checklists for reoccurring problems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance through Tier 2 support and works with System Administrators to resolve Tier 3 issues.  
  • Document steps needed to resolve problems and create guidelines for end users.   
  • Evaluate, maintain, modify (e.g., create macros, templates) and document desktop application packages, participate in the testing and evaluation of new desktop packages and implement prototypes.
  • Maintain knowledge database and call tracking database to enhance quality of problem resolutions.  
  • Perform associate moves, changes, new hire preparation and separations.  
  • Keep the Director of Infrastructure informed of the status of all projects and processing errors and/or system downtime.
  • Assist with IT projects and help rollout new equipment and desktop services to associates.  May provide on-site training to users.  
  • Assist in the installations, diagnostics and repair of network devices, printers and PC software and hardware. 
  • Assist in the evaluation, recommendations, and final selection of equipment, network services and PC components for the organization.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of data and telecommunications services and network cabling.
  • Perform software upgrades and installs.  Perform installation and preventive maintenance of PC and printer hardware.
  • Maintain technical knowledge level through trade publications, seminars and courses.
  • Assist other IT technical staff as necessary.  
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized lab.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required to fulfill departmental needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent relevant work experience.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified Public Entity Risk Control Specialist to join our team in the Insurance industry. As a Public Entity Risk Control Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and assessing risks associated with public entities, such as government agencies and municipalities for the insurance coverages that we provide (e.g., property, auto, and liability). Your main objective will be to develop and implement risk control strategies to minimize potential losses and ensure the safety of the public. You will work closely with clients to identify their needs and provide them with tailored risk control solutions. This is a full-time position located in York, PA, Berwyn, PA, or remote – potentially anywhere in the country but with close access to a major airport.  

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in safety or insurance risk / loss control, preferably in the public entity sector
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Glatfelter Claims Operations, a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is seeking a Summer Intern to provide general support to the claims team in its daily activities. Under supervision, this position will work on projects integral to the company's success. The day-to-day tasks may include: 

  • Learn the claim registration process and the claim system to provide support within the department
  • Work on various process improvement projects, such as claim system enhancements process/workflow improvement
  • Assist with the roll-out of online claim reporting, electronic fund transfers, and more

Glatfelter IT – Corporate Applications, a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is seeking a Summer Intern to provide general support to the IT/Infrastructure team in its daily activities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a variety of IT functions in a corporate setting. The Glatfelter Agency (TGA), a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Account Manager to join our growing team. This individual will be assigned a book of business to maintain and service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Solicit, quote and issue new business

  • Perform account renewal reviews
  • Run the IVANS process and match suspense items

About the Position

This new role is central to Glatfelter’s expansion of analytics capabilities, primarily in support of catastrophe management and claims predictions. The Analyst will work closely with Executive Leadership, Actuarial, Claims, and Underwriting in developing new tools to monitor and, ultimately, optimize the property portfolio’s footprint relative to key catastrophe metrics (e.g. AAL, PML).  In addition, they will create new claims reporting capabilities that will lead to better predictability of claims outcomes through incorporation of data mining/scraping and modeling. This position is required to be onsite at our York, PA or Berwyn, PA office. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and steering of CAT exposure through creation of accumulation tools, including mapping/visualizations.  
  • Support individual deal evaluations through modeling and validation of US natural catastrophe (CAT) exposures/AAL
  • Training and support of the local AIG Programs & Glatfelter underwriting and actuarial teams on the fundamentals of CAT modeling, exposure monitoring, and CAT management
  • Contribute to portfolio management for AIG Programs & Glatfelter by devising a cost framework for optimizing AAL allocations
  • Validate analysis and resulting reinsurance cost allocations to AIG Programs & Glatfelter
  • Support post-CAT event impact analysis and provide timely exposure assessments Claims Analytics
  • Creation and refinement of key claims indicators that bring greater transparency and predictability to loss frequency and severity forecasts.   Using various techniques (e.g. text mining, data scraping), build models that predict complex claims and large loss propensity.
  • Monitoring of critical coverage and high profile risks, such as abuse, PFAS, and excess liability
  • Investigate claims patterns and work with Actuarial to update loss development factors for use in pricing and reserving work
  • Work with IT to capture new metrics that contribute to claims predictability
  • Optimize claims resources through predictive measures by lines of business

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of property and casualty commercial lines’ experience in Analytics, Actuarial, Claims, and/or IT.
  • Excellent analytical skills and work with P&C insurance reporting and monitoring tools.  Experience in building tools that support insurance functions (e.g. UW, Claims) is required.
  • Working knowledge of core P&C lines of business, as well as A&H
  • Working knowledge of Catastrophe modeling concepts (e.g. AAL, PML, accumulation) and industry models (e.g. RMS, AIR)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions within scope of authority.
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Power BI (or equivalent) products.  Programming knowledge, such as SQL or Python, is preferred.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Territory Distribution Leader for our VFIS Sales Department to develop and promote the sale and use of all VFIS products and services through agents and brokers to achieve premium growth, profitability and market penetration objectives in an assigned territory. The successful candidate for this position will promote and maintain goodwill between VFIS and key emergency service organizations in the Eastern PA territory. Significant travel will be required, including evening appointments. This position will be filled by someone living within the designated territory.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Technical Analyst to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to assist underwriters by performing the technical aspects of the underwriting process, including, but not limited to, policy rating, processing, policy changes, policy issuance, and communicating with agents.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Processes and issues all transactions related to quotes and quote proposals, new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
  • Performs quality checks on policies, endorsements, and billing information.  
  • Responsible for producer and/or account relationship building in his/or her assigned region.
  • Meets all file documentation standards and passes all audits (both internal and external).
  • Refers all accounts exceeding designated authority level to higher level for approval.
  • Updates customer records in processing system.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Liability Specialist to join our claims management team.  This role will independently investigate, determine liability and/or compensability and adjust third-party claims, which may include general liability, professional liability, management liability and employment practices liability with significant damages and/or exposures. This position is required to be onsite at our York or Berwyn location.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling and/or directing the investigation, negotiation and disposition of claims as the claim dictates within authority limits.
  • Independently gathering documentation to evaluate damages.
  • Settles claims promptly and equitably utilizing various settlement techniques such as direct negotiations or ADR.  
  • Prepares reports to management, agents and stakeholders as directed by management.
  • Reviews losses with the insurance carrier as required.

  • Informs claimant, insured or attorney of denial of liability and justifies denial when applicable.

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma with five (5) years of experience handling complex and high exposure liability claims, or appropriate transferable experience in a related field.
  • Industry designation(s) and field experience is a significant asset and is strongly preferred.  Appropriate college degree is an advantage.
  • Must have or obtain the AIC or comparable designation within three (3) years of hire.
  • Must have or obtain appropriate licenses within an aggressive period of time.   Will be required to maintain licenses by fulfilling state continuing education requirements.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Territory Distribution Leader who will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the South-Central territory which includes TX, OK, AR, LS, and MS. The successful candidate will reside within this territory, ideally in Dallas, TX. Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Property Claims Representative II to join our property claims management team to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate simple claims to conclusion.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Handles first party claims from first report to conclusion according to procedures established for the line of business unit and the department.
  • Represents and advocates the insured’s interest within the scope of the coverages provided by their insurance policy.
  • Sets up losses in the Glatfelter Claims Management, Inc. automated system and appropriately reserve them.

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Risk Control Service Coordinator who will provide support to Risk Control Services to help fulfill its customer service mission to clients and internal partners. The successful candidate will be a point of contact for clients, internal partners, and external consultants. The candidate will follow up with clients via telephone regarding recommendations made by field staff and will develop building valuations based on information provided by others.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops, manages, and evaluates workflow processes and procedures for risk control services. 
  • Develops and monitors requests for service (RFS) using the Risk Control Technologies work management system. 
  • Receives, scans, images, and processes risk control assessment reports from consultants. 
  • Notifies underwriters of processed risk control assessment reports. 
  • Generates, diaries, and follows-up on risk control recommendation letters (via telephone) with clients, agents, underwriters and risk control associates.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Program Large Account Underwriting Supervisor. This position supports the Program Manager in managing the underwriting of an assigned Program including responsibility for profit and loss. This role will also:

  • Manage development, growth and profitability for a book of business. 
  • Assume responsibility for the Program Manager when that individual is not available. 
  • Manage the quality and quantity of work performed by assigned P&C Senior Underwriters. 
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to the underwriting staff.  
  • Market products and actively participates in agency planning and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily underwriting of the property & casualty book of insurance business within delegated underwriting authority to assure adherence to GIG underwriting guidelines and appropriate risk selection and pricing.  
  • Monitors employee’s adherence to authority delegation, oversees underwriting activities through internal referrals, file reviews and periodic internal audit. 
  • Manages workflow and processing issues within assigned territory and may maintain underwriting responsibility for an assigned group of agents.
  • On a referral basis, accepts, rejects or requests additional information from the submitting client. 
  • On a referral basis, receives and reviews new business submissions for completeness and acceptability. 
  • Reviews exception renewals in accordance with guidelines and recommends pricing and coverage changes.
  • Reviews and takes appropriate action within their authority on any transaction(s) that exceed the written underwriting authority of the Underwriter. 
  • Monitors rate vs. target, pricing standards/guidelines, risk control and claims activities for accounts within assigned territory or book of business.
  • Evaluates and compares competitor's forms and coverages in conjunction with Product or Program Manager.
  • Assists Program Manager with edits or revisions to program underwriting guidelines or coverage forms.
  • In conjunction with the Program Manager and other Underwriting Supervisors, establishes, implements, and communicates divisional underwriting philosophies and systems. 
  • Provides strategic and tactical input on products, book of business and territory.  Determines and makes recommendations for marketing, pricing and products and systems.
  • Reviews appeals by clients and recommends appropriate action. 
  • Responds to inquiries from clients regarding pricing and coverage issues. 
  • Refers and suggests action on any unusual exposures to the Program Manager for approval. 
  • Communicates with program sales staff regarding current market conditions, problems, and opportunities in region.
  • Attends agent meetings, conventions, trade shows, visits client offices as needed. 
  • Prepares and submits reports for management use as required. 
  • Plans and assists with product knowledge seminars as needed. 
  • Assists with the recruitment and selection of new underwriting associates.
  • Coordinates and guides training through the creation and management of performance plans to support staff growth and professional development.
  • Monitors the quality and quantity of work by underwriters in respective program area.
  • Evaluates the performance of direct reports on an ongoing basis and provides feedback and coaching, as needed, and conducts annual performance reviews on a timely basis.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by management

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, business or related field preferred. or appropriate industry related experience. Professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU). 
  • Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively more complex, specialty commercial lines underwriting experience.   
  • Must have or attain within 3 months and maintain current property-casualty license for resident state and other licenses as required.  
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of technical underwriting, pricing, and coverage issues.
  • Strong professional knowledge of legislative issues, industry trends and marketplace issues within territory or region.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of GIG underwriting authority and underwriting rules, risk selection and pricing, available coverage, industry and regional issues and trends. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with agency distributors toward desired outcome; high level of sales and relationship building skills
  • Mathematical ability required to properly equate exposure with premium and understand significance of management reports and actuarial reviews.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Learning & Development Manager to join our Human Resources team in our York, PA office. This position will be responsible for assessing, planning, developing and administering corporate-wide training and continuing education programs.   

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Engages with business leaders to understand business strategy and design training programs inclusive of associates in all locations to meet strategic goals.
  • Coordinates the education process for GIG associates including assessing educational needs; planning, developing and implementing and/or presenting appropriate training; and evaluating educational outcomes.
  • Develops, manages, and facilitates in-house educational seminars/workshops. This includes, but is not limited to, professional development, leadership skills, communication skills, insurance industry designation classes, etc.
  • Oversees relationship with stakeholders responsible for Cornerstone LMS, including on-demand, virtual, and in-person content. This includes submitting content, piloting content, troubleshooting with associates, reporting, assigning training, etc.
  • Coordinates the Individual Development Plan process, develops career mapping for each major job family, and provides career counseling to associates.
  • Coordinates and facilitates training for new people managers, which includes information on policies, leadership skills, and key procedures.
  • Develops and implements a leadership development program in line with Glatfelter values and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinates and implements internship programs.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a corporate environment in a training function
  • Learning and development LMS administration or other directly relevant field required
  • DiSC certification preferred but not required.
  • APTD or CPTD Credentials preferred by not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a creative mindset, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, best practices of hybrid instructional design and learning transfer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design practices, such as ADDIE or SAM.

About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Risk Control Representative to work with our Client Risk Solutions Department at our Leader Heights office in York, PA. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight of risk control services provided to Glatfelter program clients (GPE - schools, municipalities, water and wastewater districts, and school bus contractors; GH – hospice, home health and senior living; GMC – religious organizations; VFIS – emergency service organizations). 
  • Conducts Account Management meetings and UW assessment visits with clients to discuss their operations and service needs, provides feedback on their loss history, and then develops service plans and objectives to help clients reduce their risk.
    1. The services provided to clients may include on-site surveys, consulting, and training and education. 
    2. These services may be provided utilizing internal Glatfelter associates, independent contractors, or specialized service providers. 
  • Works with agents/brokers to sell the value-add risk control brings to the insurance program. 
  • The position also requires completion of special projects and associated research to assist the department in meeting goals and staying abreast of changes in the industry.
  • GIG risk control is focused on the auto, property and liability lines of coverage. 

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, safety sciences, organizational leadership, or equivalent work experience. 
  • A high degree of curiosity and knowledge of emerging technology and risk management techniques is a must.
  • Candidate must have the interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with co-workers, client leadership, and agents.
  • The ability to work with data and provide clients with a useful context for said data is a plus.
