About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a General Maintenance Associate for our Maintenance Department who will perform general maintenance related functions to provide a clean and safe workplace.

This position is required to be onsite at our Leader Heights, York, PA office. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects and disposes of trash and recyclables.
  • Develop and execute schedule for carpet cleaning, window washing, locker room sanitizing.
  • Responds to and performs cleaning on carpet stains/ spills and office panels and chairs.
  • Oversee outsourced facility maintenance vendors.    
  • Assists in moving, removing or installing office partition components and systems.    
  • Assemble, disassemble, move and cleaning of office furnishings.
  • Assists in maintaining general building structural items, doors, hardware, cabinets, windows, floors, ceilings, etc.  
  • Responsible for conference room setups. 
  • Provides delivery service of printer paper to all departments
  • Basic laundering duties, towel, microfibers, tablecloths.
  • Maintain proper working order of soap, hand sanitizer toilet paper and paper towel dispensers.
  • Provide evening and weekend emergency response on an as-needed basis. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of entire grounds to ensure appropriate safety and appearance.
  • Assists in grounds keeping activities
  • Assists in purchasing services and materials within parameters of the department budget. 
  • Operate the security system for routine activities. 
  • Assists in setting purchasing quantity and parts inventory levels as well as maintains the materials inventory control system for the housekeeping related supplies.
  • Assist with replacing light bulbs and equipment filters per routine maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in keeping exterior walkways, driveways and parking areas clean and safe, including but not limited to plowing snow/ice, shoveling, sweeping or applying de-icers.
  • Painting touchup of walls and doors.
  • Responds to emergency concerns.
  • Assist with various building related inspections.
  • Makes pickups and deliveries related to department activities
  • Completes computer maintenance records and time sheets. 
  • Provides evening and weekend emergency response on a backup basis.
  • Arm and disarm the facility security system when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of general maintenance and grounds experience in a commercial environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with general maintenance tools/equipment, cleaning products, and proper cleaning methods.
  • Previous equipment operator experience using grounds equipment.
  • Experience with general maintenance and cleaning methods.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience operating a variety of motorized equipment as needed (lawn mowers, tractor with front-end loader, truck with snowplows)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, move heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Considerable reaching, bending, kneeling.
  • Ability to work from ladder and scaffolding.
  • Exposure to hot and cold working environments.
