About the Position
- Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Legal Summer Intern who will work closely with our corporate legal team. The intern will be responsible for supporting corporate contract initiatives. This includes developing workbooks in Excel, reviewing and analyzing PDF files and Microsoft Word documents, and preparing reports and tracking methodology for contract life cycle data within a selected management system. The summer position will report to the Associate General Counsel, Legal Department, and is a member of the Legal team having meaningful exposure to the Corporate General Counsel and Department Paralegal. We are looking for problem solving and creative initiative to help develop and design an in-house management system for corporate contracts, putting together a proposal for presentation to the team and, upon acceptance, marshaling the internal resources to develop and implement the system for actual cataloging, tracking and reports of contract features and documentation. The candidate should have strong command of Microsoft Excel (specifically filtering, sorting, and data formatting), working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC or higher, high level of comfort in navigating complex file folder and structures, and the ability to learn specialized legal technology/CLM platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Auditing & Documentation: Review active and historical agreements to identify and extract key data, including effective dates, termination triggers, renewal windows, and notice requirements.
- Database Management: Input and categorize contract data into the Legal Department’s Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system or centralized Excel trackers to ensure a "single source of truth" for corporate obligations.
- File Organization: Assist in the digital migration and organization of legal files, ensuring all documents are correctly named, versioned, and stored according to department conventions.
- Reporting Support: Help generate CLM summary reports to support the company’s procurement process.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline the contract intake and filing process based on day-to-day data entry experiences.
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of sophomore year in a business bachelor’s degree program, in a major such as finance, accounting, marketing or management, at an accredited college or university. Legal experience is not required.
- Achievement of a 3.0 or higher-grade point average
- Someone who has the ability to work 30 hours per week at our York office location, starting May 18, 2026 to Aug 7, 2026
- Someone who is looking for a career in Insurance is preferred
