About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Director of Infrastructure.  Our new associate will be responsible for leading a team of highly technical individuals and overseeing the operations of our network infrastructure, desktop and server virtualization, cloud infrastructure services, storage networks, and patch management. The candidate will play a critical role in securely enabling our business operations and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our IT systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of technical professionals, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
  • Oversee the operations and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Organize and coordinate the activities associated with installation, deployment and upgrade of software, hardware, and network facilities as they relate to the desktop and network environments.  
  • Manage desktop and server virtualization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure services, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
  • Administer storage networks, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance.
  • Oversee patch management processes to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align IT infrastructure with business goals and requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the security and resilience of the company’s IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in IT infrastructure management.
  • Maintain a 24 x 7 hybrid cloud infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of IT work experience including managing technical team(s) responsible for desktop support, network infrastructure, data storage environments (including disk and tape) and cloud infrastructure.  Experience in managing operational infrastructure in a 24x7, multi-site environment. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with management staff and provide feedback on staff’s ability to meet departmental objectives.
  • Strong analytical, technical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Equipped with effective communication skills to effectively communicate to all levels of GIG associates in all departments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing and unpredictable conditions, handling numerous tasks/priorities simultaneously. 
  • Ability to cope successfully with stressful situations and work effectively under pressure.
  • Possess a high level of service commitment to those in need.
