About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist. As a team member of the Human Resources Department, this position will provide support and engagement for all associates in the areas of recruiting, benefits, and payroll as well as consulting and direction in the execution of people and business strategies.  

This position is required to be onsite at our Leader Heights, York, PA office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embodies and supports Glatfelter’s Purpose and Values
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and support, as well as transactional administration, in areas such as HRIS system maintenance, benefits, payroll, and recruiting. 
  • Facilitate internal talent acquisition efforts and support onboarding processes
  • Assists with posting new jobs, closing jobs, scheduling interviews, and onboarding applicants as needed
  • Process all HR paperwork and transactions in the HRIS system for new hires, promotions, transfers, changes, etc.
  • Administer and continuously improve local HR processes including leaves of absence, benefits enrollment, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate and legally compliant electronic HR records, documentation, and employee files
  • Process/Update a variety of payroll/finance activities including payroll processing backup
  • Ensure legal compliance and implementation of HR programs align with local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Maintain and communicate HR policies and procedures; provide guidance to associates to ensure understanding and adherence
  • Support and assist with performance review planning process
  • Supports annual enrollment and benefits communications, focusing on associate education and engagement
  • Drive compliance with regulatory requirements that include annual audits and 5500 filings
  • Serve as a trusted partner with leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals
  • Helps with various internal events, including those sponsored by the Glatfelter Culture Committee 
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and retention
  • Performs other related duties assigned to the evolving needs of the business and department 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification desired
  • Excellent interpersonal skills-ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of general HR practices, relevant labor laws, and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills- enjoys in person or phone conversation vs email
  • Organizational and time management skills-ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to create, run, and edit reports to analyze data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times in all situations
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, HRIS systems, SurveyMonkey, Adobe, and Canva
  • Ability to flex style when faced with competing priorities
  • Previous experience and excellent knowledge of HRIS systems/ADP Workforce Now and ability to learn new applications
  • Microsoft Office applications are required, including advanced excel skills.
